Evaluating Other Work - Group

To start of our project, we have decided to look back at and evaluate old work from previous years. By doing this, we are able to see what we have to include in our News Package and what skills we should need to present in order to get a pass grade. Furthermore, by marking the work we watched, we are able to be self-critical too of our own work when it comes to creating our news package hence pick out bits if the pieces and be very critical. This will also enable us to look at our work and think about ways in which we could improve it in order to get a better grade int eh ling run. 

The first piece of work which we looked at was from 'Jamp News', where this news channel discusses the issue of Zoos and if they are ethical or not. This coursework was finished to a high standard. One key aspect that they did well in was their use of mise en scene. They took their work to the Zoo itself and, despite the interviews from the 'public' being in school, they made it look as if they were by the zoo. Therefore by looking at this the group and I need to take from this video is their creativity with the resources they have. For example, we would want to film as much of our news package in one place as we can; making it easier for us so that we do not have to keep travelling far out. This will be very good too as if there are more clips it will be easier in relation to cutaways, shot reverse shot, etc, etc. The video is shown below:
