1. Two sentence summary of thriller.
The Thriller that I have constructed is based upon the pursuit of a victim by the stalking Hitman - Saint Sinister, the story of escape and capture is told from the victims point of view, using 1st person shots to establish the connection between the two characters.
2. Todorvos theory.
Todorvo has a theory of equilibrium, our thriller Saint Sinister combats this idea through reinforced concepts.
3. What is an example of this from your coursework?
In my opening sequence Saint Sinister, there are a collection of calming shots which capture a life sequence of the environment, until it is abruptly disrupted by the eery unlocking of a door.
4. How is this supported through micro-elements?
There are two clear divisions between the two present characters in Saint Sinister, the antagonist is a holy hitman who is the focus of the sequence, he is chasing the victim. The victims sequences are shot with a 1st person angel, where as Saint Sinister is always in-front of the camera, the directions of the cameras seem as if he is chasing you.
7. One line on strauss and his theory.
Surrounds the topic of binary oppositions, two opposites in themes and the presentation of this in my thriller.
8. What is an example of this from your coursework?
There is a clear binary opposition between the captor and the victim, the hitman has a clear incentive to hunt down the present victim in Saint Sinister. There is also an opposition in narrative power, the pure focus is placed in the Hitman, following his character instead of seeing the victim. The victim’s perspective is outweighed by the pure presence of the hitman.
9. How is this supported through micro-elements?
There are a continual amount of contrasting shots shared between the victim and the Hitman.
11. One line on Props theory.
Every film has different character types, typical characters such as hero, villain and princess.
